Job Overview

Harbinger Motors is seeking a skilled Senior Cost Accountant to manage accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory valuation. This candidate will lead initiatives to enhance costing processes and ensure seamless workflow is in place

What You’ll Do:

Execute monthly closing tasks, including preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and conducting variance analyses.
Lead the creation and implementation of accounting processes from the ground up.
Partner with operations, production, and engineering teams to ensure precise and timely reporting.
Analyze manufacturing cost discrepancies and develop solutions to prevent future variances.
Manage standard costing procedures, offering support and guidance on complex issues.
Drive process enhancements and implement best practices to optimize product costing accuracy.
Ensure accurate inventory valuation, enhance internal controls, and implement necessary improvements.
Assist the Director of Finance with various special projects as required.

Who You Are:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
CPA/CPA Eligibility preferred, but not required.
Proven experience in establishing and maintaining standard costing systems, overhead allocation methods, and inventory reconciliation processes.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/MRP systems.

California Pay Range

$80,000—$115,000 USD
