Job Overview
Harbinger is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Vehicle Test Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing vehicle testing activities to ensure the quality, performance, and safety of their vehicles. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, contributing to the successful development and launch of new commercial electric vehicles.
What You'll Do:
Test Planning & Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for various vehicle systems and components.
Instrumentation: Select the proper instrumentation, physically instrument the vehicle, and ensure the quality and accuracy of the recorded data.
Field Testing: Conduct vehicle testing on test tracks, public roads, and controlled environments.
Data Analysis: Analyze test data to identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot performance issues and defects.
Documentation: Document test results, track findings in Jira, and present actionable recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with design, development, and manufacturing teams to resolve identified issues and refine product performance.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of new test methodologies and internal standards.
Who You Are (Qualifications):
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Vehicle Test Engineer or in a closely related role.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of vehicle systems and components, including powertrain, chassis, electrical, and electronics.
Analytical Skills: Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Bonus Points: Familiarity with automotive testing standards (e.g., ISO, SAE) and experience with specific testing methodologies like NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), durability, or reliability testing.
